I Smell Like A Pumpkin Spice Latte and My Skin Is Loving It

You've no doubt heard the rumblings in the blogging sphere about the Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme mask, so here I am adding my two penneth to make that rumble a little louder.  This stuff is incredible.

I have combination skin, with, bizarrely, a dry T-zone and an oily forehead.  I realise that it's usually the other way around, but my skin likes to go against the grain.  I've been after something for years that would really slough away all my dry, dead skin cells that stick around no matter what I throw at them, and this has finally taken the crown.  My skin is radiant and I feel so damn clean.

If I'm having a gross, grey skin day, when my skin just needs a smack in the face and a good talking to, this is what I reach for.  I slather a thin layer across my face and neck, massaging in circles with wet fingertips and then leave it on my skin for as long as I can bear, which is usually about four and half minutes.

By that point my face feels like it's on fire, and I'm very happy to get the stuff off, which I do with a cool, damp cloth and then a splash of water.  The results are completely worth the few minutes of panicking over whether or not my face is about to peel off, as once the redness has calmed down after ten minutes or so, I'm left with what feels like brand new skin.

This stuff is packed with AHAs and aluminium oxide (that's right, I actually read the label for once) and leaves me with beautiful, glowy skin.  All dead skin cells are long gone, and the whole texture of my skin is transformed.  It becomes smooth and soft, and it stays that way for up to a week.  I also find that this works pretty well as an intensive spot treatment as it just sucks the life out of the little buggers.

While if you have sensitive skin this might not be for you, if your skin can handle the crazy pumpkin enzymes, you'll love this stuff.  Did I mention the fact that it smells like Autumn?  Because it smells like cinnamon toasty goodness, much like everyone's favourite drink for this time of year.  I say everyone, but I actually loathe Pumpkin Spice Lattes, even if the smell makes me feel like pulling on a snuggly jumper and reading a good book.

Hopefully you've enjoyed this post, and if so keep an eye out as this is part of my Blogtober series where I post every day in October.  Check out my other posts from this month and see whether I actually manage to even think of 31 topics!

  1. I haven't actually heard of this but I'm really into face masks at the moment so I'll have to check it out as it sounds like there's instant great results!
